My name is Jackie and I have been tattooing for 11 years. After years of working with antiques, I moved to Spain for the ‘free spirit’ life style. In order to earn my way I decided to do hand painted tattoos (not henna, which can be terrible for the skin).
I spent 2 years painting little red devils and chinese symbols on half the tourists in Europe! It was fabulous. I would walk along the beaches and pools, earning fabulous amounts and having fun.
During the winter months, I would leave Costa del Sol in Spain and travel to Tenerife, as it was busier there in the winter.
While in Tenerife I came across a Phil Butterworth, who owned a tattoo studio on the Isle of Man. He is a fabulous tattoo artist and his shaded work I adore. Typical hairy scary biker! I was already very interested in the tattooing process and had bought my own equipment. Phil informed me that he was moving over to Tenerife to open a tattoo studio.
I adored tattooing from my very first tattoo. I believe dealing with 5 year olds on the beach, with hand painted tattoos was a good starting point. I worked in Phil’s shop in Tenerife, as well as having my own customers, I was there for 3 years. I loved working in Tenerife, but always intended to come back to Romford and set up my own studio. I had plenty of offers to run other peoples studios but decided to be patient and wait for my own.
Every customer is made to feel welcome, at ease, and free to express their wishes. I make sure every visitor is treated as I would like to be treated, and every tattoo is tattooed as if it is the most important tattoo in the world, which of course it is, because it’s yours. |
